I don't think they do either, but as the majority of the country goes, so goes their profits. Corporations do a lot to cultivate "good will" which is an accounting asset and a benefit to them financially.

Yes there are! Campaign consultants always frame each election as "our most important in our history", but this time it doesn't feel exaggerated.

That's true—even Mitch McConnell admitted the republican candidates for major offices are subpar! But I also think people across the political spectrum are driven by issues, particularly economic issues, but polls seem to document that the abortion issue in particular, and erosion of our rights and freedoms more generally, are driving more people to register and hopefully vote. And I think banks and larger corporations recognize that they have to be on the "right side" of issues people care about...thus the slight shift in donations.
