Kim Reynolds' comment that it would "allow young adults to develop their skills in the workforce" is akin to the statement made by R. DeSantis that slaves learned valuable skills that helped them after they were freed. First of all, 14 year olds are NOT young adults; they are teenagers. I cannot believe these states are in favor of child labor; what would possess these people in power to think this is a great idea??

I’m so dumbfounded by this movement to lower the minimum age. But as companies gain more power and unions get smaller, I suppose it’s expected. Still. So surprising to me. Smh

I agree with the dumbfounded feeling. I couldn't believe what I was reading when I first saw the articles! We are regressing in so many ways, it is embarrassing.

I am with you 100% on this one. But at the same time, we need to be aware of how we can change the circumstances in which people live to build stronger communities for kids to be safe outside the house, find mentors outside the family, and in generate a climate that favors small business and entrepreneurial activity as described here: https://erlhapp.substack.com/p/the-building-of-the-commons
