The ProPublica article (the one about the current laws that govern the industry) does say that a scant few states and localities either have proposed or enacted some form of licensing requirement. It is mystifying why these companies are not strictly regulated given what's happened.
I didn't know that happened....did the house ever sell?? All I recall is that she had that gorgeous big fir/pine tree in the front cut down....
Would stringent licensing requirements for these firms to open help alleviate this unethical practice ?
